Silk "Factory"

OK, maybe it's working a bit better now.
Friday we also went on the obligatory visit to a Government-run silk factory.  It was not so much a factory as a showroom......ah, Communism.  For those who do not understand:  Tour Organizations (and this seems to include Adoption Agencies) must stay on the good side of the Government, and this involves bringing their busloads of Tourists to the Government-run traditional Chinese craft factories.  We've been to Cloisonne, Silk, Jade, and Pearl factories on our visits to China.  The prices are high at these facilities, but, the quality is very good, too.

The girls were testing out the ultra-soft silk batting that went in a silk comforter.  (Which is something I'd never heard of until now)

What happened to the post about walking to a Chinese market? The first part comes up on Google but does not appear on your blog. - Nana

Ah, I see that that was a REALLY old post. It mysteriously popped up to the top on google, which is what I have to use here on Joyce's computer. Hope to see pix and hear from you tomorrow (which is already today for you).
Love,
