Friday was a visit to a Hutong, which is a traditional Beijing household that is all but gone now. When the rest of the city is 30-storey high-rise apartments, it's hard to justify a one-level house, even if many families are crammed in. Most of the fun is had with the rickshaw ride, of course.

Hutong Tour
Sorry, we're running about a day behind. And I'm tired (last night of jetlag, I hope), so not much narrative tonight.
Friday was a visit to a Hutong, which is a traditional Beijing household that is all but gone now. When the rest of the city is 30-storey high-rise apartments, it's hard to justify a one-level house, even if many families are crammed in. Most of the fun is had with the rickshaw ride, of course.
